BOX OF JOY

By sending Box of Joy gifts filled with toys, clothing, school supplies, a rosary and the Story of Jesus, our parish can demonstrate Christ’s compassion to poor children in developing countries.

There are 3 ways to help:

  1. Boxes will be supplied (12” X 5” the size of a shoe box) along with a list of suitable items, a card for you to write a personal note to the child, a tag to indicate the appropriate sex and age range and a rubber band to secure the box. Take a box, purchase a variety of items from the list provided, include a check made out to Cross Catholic Outreach to cover the cost of postage ($9.00 for each box), mark the sex/age tag appropriately on the tag provided and return the box to Church by November 6.
  2. Donate items, from the gift idea list provided on a table in the narthex, from September 24th through October 30th and put the gifts in the appropriate totes provided in the Narthex. Gifts can be for a boy or girl in the age ranges: 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 years of age.
  3. Place a monetary donation in the Good Samaritan box in the Narthex from September 24th through October 15th to cover the cost of postage for the boxes we will be packing.
  4. Join us for a fun packing party on November 5 in the hall (Details to follow) to fill the boxes and write a personal note and say a prayer for the child who will receive the box.

Our joy is in the giving and the child’s joy is in receiving their special BOX of JOY!

FOOD PANTRY

The food collection project served by the Greece Food Shelf has restarted. There is a bin in the Narthex for you to put any nonperishable food items, paper products or personal care items to be donated.

Please make sure foods have not passed their expiration date. Food prices are higher now and the need is even more acute. Thank you for your constant generosity to those in need in our area.
